Hi all, I'm new here, name is Matt.

When I first read about Door Kickers on Steam, I was totally astonished: people was really making a new SWAT game! I mean, a HARDCORE one!

I was expecting this since Sierra's SWAT 3! no other game was like it. I mean, Rainbow six is cool and everything, but after Raven Shield, there were not much more planning and tactics, just shooting.

Then, for long years, if you wished to play some special forces / police games you options were happy-trigger fast-paced shooters where you alone can kill a GAZILLION people with an M4 an 10,000 bullets.

And the only times SWAT showed up, was like moving useless targets as in Saints Row, GTA, Payday, etc.

Then..... ...DOOR KICKERS!

A really tactical SWAT game, with planning, tactics, everything my good old SWAT 3 gave me.

So, did Door Kickers had the same impact in your gamer lives as well?

PS: Thanks the DEV's. YOu should all be awarded the Nobel Prize of Ass-kicking!

I agree with everything you said, especially how poorly police "special units" are portrait in recent games. It seems like the current mentality of game developers is that the enemy doesn't have to be smart, only hard to kill.

DK is at the moment the only game that gives me complete freedom to plan the mission. The standard formations and breaching maneuvers in R6 and SWAT4 have sometimes put your AI teammates in weird positions and not covering all possible treats and getting casualties in the process, in DK you can set each trooper the exact way you want it.

Exactly! That is precisely how special units are portraited.

Is good to see you agree with me.

About SWAT 4, I remeber that I could count about 3 doors (maximum) before one of my troopers got shot in the head, even before he enters the room.

It was my first game of the genre. And being an... Uh... Young gamer, it helped open my eyes that not all games with guns in them are bloodthirsty kill-fests (I previously avoided most gun games for that reason).

We hope it's changed for the best? :)

Even though some people said they liked better the older, much simpler, versions.

Oh, for the better indeed! I'm not sure where to start with the improvements made!

Well, I'll just say this instead:

You made it possible to beat Cartel Beach Party. That alone has earned you my sword.

Damn it, we were aiming for Flappy Bird difficulty level. Will have to fix it in the final game so that it's impossible to beat again :)
